We’re excited to share the latest addition to Ninja AI’s suite of tools: the advanced image editor. This new feature is designed to make image editing simpler, faster, and more intuitive using a masking tool. Whether you’re a professional, a content creator, or just someone looking to edit your photos, this tool offers precise control over your edits without needing complex software or expertise.

What Is the Masking Tool?

The masking tool lets you highlight specific sections of an image and make changes to just that area, leaving the rest untouched. Here’s what you can do with it:

Remove unwanted objects: Highlight an item you’d like to remove, and Ninja will remove it and replace it with the proper filling.

Adjust specific areas: Change colors, brightness, or contrast on a single element, like enhancing the sky without affecting the landscape.

Add focus or effects: Blur the background to make a subject stand out or apply unique effects to one section.

How to Use the Masking Tool

The masking tool is integrated into the image editor. You can access the image editor by uploading an image file and prompting Ninja to edit the image. Or you can access the image editor after creating an image.

Access the Image Editor using the Edit button.

Start by clicking the edit button to access editing mode and the masking tool.

Then, you can adjust the masking brush size to more precisely mask the parts of the image that you want to edit. Finally, once you have masked your image, enter a detailed prompt to specify your changes. The more specific your prompt, the better the results.

Simply mask the section of the image you want to change and enter a prompt to change the image.

Crafting Effective Prompts for Masking

Here are some common ways to construct a prompt when using a masking tool.

Add something: When instructing the AI to add an element to a masked area, be specific about what you want to include and how it should integrate with the image. For example, 'Add a blue sky with light clouds to the masked area.' Another example could be, 'Add a tree with green leaves to the foreground, matching the existing light and shadow.'

Remove something: When instructing the AI to remove an element from a masked area, clearly specify what should be removed and how the surrounding area should appear. For example, 'Remove the tree in the foreground and blend the background to match the sky.' Another example could be, 'Remove the road sign from the landscape and fill the area with matching grass.'

Change something: When instructing the AI to modify an element within a masked area, clearly describe the desired change and provide relevant details. For example, 'Change the color of the car in the masked area to bright red, ensuring it matches the lighting and shadows of the scene.' Another example could be, 'Change the sky in the masked area to a sunset gradient with hues of orange and pink.'
